Kotopuli Filipp Dmitrievich (1814-1867) was born in Taganrog into a wealthy Greek merchant family. The trading house of Kotopuli traded grain with many countries in Europe. A participant in the defense of Taganrog during the Crimean war (1855). Member of the Taganrog commercial court, the city statistical committee, assistant to the director of the Taganrog social bank. Philanthropist. The vault of F. D. Kotopuli is described in the story “Ionych” by A. P. Chekhov
