Kadui municipal local lore museum named after Alexander Yukov is located in the old house of the beginning of the 20th century (one of the first buildings of the settlement) opposite the railway and bus stations.
The museum was founded in the 70-s of 20th century on the basis of a school museum whose founder was Alexander Yukov. The municipal local lore museum was opened in September, 2000. The exposition is built according to the subject and chronological principle and starts with the settling of the land by a man and finishes in XX century. The basic sections: «Archeology», «Orthodoxy and society», «Years of war», «Present day Kadui», «Circle of life». Some sections «Birth», «Weaving», «Smithy» are represented by unique exponents. Each section is designed in its individual way with diversified colors that emotionally influences the visitors.
Local places of interest
On the territory of the municipality a unique archeological monument – a site «Logova hill» – is located, one of the ancient in Vologda Oblast dated by 8 thousand years BC. A collection of stone tools includes 11 638 pieces.
Monastery St.Trinity Phillipo-Iran hermitage was founded in 1517, though none of its two churches survived the monastery attracts the tourists.
