Tarnogskiy museum of traditional folk culture
The museum exposition consists of five sections (ethnographic, historical and memorial, nature, open stocks and exhibition hall) that are located in 3 buildings. There are more than 5 thousand units in the museum stock. In 2002 House-Museum of A.Ugryumov – a local historian, a big expert in Tarnoga history, an honorary citizen of the settlement Tarnogskiy Gorodok – was opened.
The main task of the museum is a revival of traditional folk culture of the settlement, creation of comfortable environment for development of creative activity of people, revival of spirituality.
The exposition «Traditional culture of kokshar people in 19-20th centuries» tells about life of the northern peasants, traditional culture of «kokshar» people during ceremonial rituals, traditional female trades, trades and crafts of «kokshar» people.
Exposition «Traditional nature management in Kokshen’ga» is devoted to nature and animal world of the area, tells about the honey business.
«Historical and Memorial Section. House-Museum of A.Ugryumov» is devoted to the life and activity of the Ugryumovs family.
