Application deadline for VIII Gavrilin Governor’s International Competition for Young Musicians has been extended until February 28, 2022

The Governor's International music competition is held in the Vologda Region every three years. It is a significant event in the cultural life of the Vologda Region and Russia. This is one of the most ambitious projects aimed at popularizing the work of the outstanding Russian composer, a native of the Vologda Region Valery Gavrilin.

The music competition is organized with an active backing of the Vologda Oblast Government. The main objective of the event is to reveal new talents and to perpetuate the memory of Valery Gavrilin.

Taking into account the adverse epidemiological situation, this year the event will be transferred to a remote and online format. Musicians from Russia, Belarus, Turkey, USA, Germany and New Zealand in the 9-to-25 age bracket will participate in it.

The competition is held in several categories including piano, violin, cello, academic singing, accordion, pop music and musical composition.
