Strasbourg Public Garden was opened in Vologda.

The public garden located along Moscovskaya Street, between the Tekstilshchikov and Dzerzhinsky Streets, was named after the twin town of Vologda – Strasbourg.

“All variants of public green zones of the city that could be named after Strasbourg were considered in August. The public garden in Moscovskaya Street was chosen for it during the discussion. Now the Strasbourg Public Garden is included into the list of parks, public gardens, gardens and boulevards of Vologda. It is made to strengthen and to develop mutual cooperation between Vologda and Strasbourg”, said Alexei Osokin, Deputy Head of the City.

Strasbourg (France) is the twin town of Vologda since 2008. One of the new residential areas of this French city will be given the name of Vologda in 2013.
