Vologda is to host a photo exhibition devoted to Maria Sklodowska-Curie,
Polish most famous woman scientist.
This exhibition is a joint project of the Vologda Oblast Government, the Polish
Embassy in Saint Petersburg and a cultural and educational society Polonia that
aims to strengthen the interest of the Russian nation in the Polish language,
culture, history, belief and traditions.
The exhibition will be opened at the Vologda Research Library on January 27,
2014. Maria Sklodowska-Curie is two-time winner of the Nobel Prize. She was the
first female professor in the history of the Sorbonne and the French government
decorated her with the Legion of Honour.
