Hell”) for producer’s interpretation of the philosophical novel by F.
Dostoevsky with methods of the square mystery theatre.

___________________________________________ * During the International Theatre Festival “Voices of
History” two professional contests take place. It is a competition
between performances in the open air and a competition between
performances in doors. According to the conception of the festival the
contest of performances in the open air is the main one: only these
performances have a possibility to get the Main Prize of the “Voices of
History” – the Mask. The jury awards five main prizes, among those there
are two prizes – the Prize named after A.P. Svobodin and the Prize named
after the People’s Artist of the RSFSR A.V. Semenov. Performances in
doors are awarded with special prizes.
In 2007 the jury decided not to award a prize named after the People’s
Artist of the RSFSR A.V. Semenov. ** Svobodin Alexander Petrovich (1922-99), the Russian
theatre critic. He collaborated with the magazine “Theatre”. Author of
works about the modern theatre (books “Theatre Meetings”, 1965; “Seeable
Time”, 1975; “Dialogues about the Modern Theatre”, 1979; “Theatre
Square”, 1981, and others), about actors – I.M. Smoktunovsky, O.N.
Efremov, M.A. Ulyanov, of the drama chronicle “Narodovoltsy” (“Members
of the “Narodnaya Volya”). One of the authors of the conception of the
